Happy Skincare products are made from the highest quality natural and organic ingredients that have been sourced from plant and mineral origins (but no mineral oils!). Each of our ingredients has been selected because of its unique properties that allow it to repair and enhance your skin.
We use the internationally recognised International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients (INCI) standard for ingredients. This means there are never any hidden ingredients in Happy Skincare products. All ingredients are clearly marked on product labels and are listed in descending order of inclusion. This allows you to make an informed choice about your skincare products.
Ingredients we don’t use
Just as important as the ingredients that we use in our products are the ingredients that we don’t use. You will not find any of the following in a Happy Skincare product:
- animal derivatives
- artificial colours
- bleaches e.g. benzoyl peroxide
- harsh detergents
- mineral oils
- parabens
- petro-chemicals
- sodium lauryl sulphate
- sodium laureth sulphate
- sulphates
- synthetic fragrances
- triethanolamine
You may notice that occasionally your product may differ in colour from batch to batch. This is because we do not use any artificial colours. This is completely normal and natural.
Mineral oils have been replaced with wonderful moisturising ingredients such as rosehip, coconut, and jojoba oils. As a substitute for petro-chemicals we use natural emulsifiers derived from plants and vegetables such as olive.
We do not use fragrances. Any aromas our products have are the natural scents of the ingredients. For example, our Anti-Ageing and Repair Cream has the subtle aromas of calming lavender essential oil and earthy carrot seed oil.
Preservatives
Our oil-based products are 100% preservative free.
The Happy Skincare Anti-Ageing and Repair Cream – being a cream and not an oil-only product – requires an added preservative in order to ensure safe use over time, preventing the development of microorganisms.
We use the natural preservative Vitamin E, and to maintain a longer shelf life we also use the globally approved food-grade (non-paraben) preservative Potassium Sorbate. Potassium Sorbate has a proven safety record and is used at very safe and low levels.
