Being Easter Sunday we thought today was the perfect chance to think about how so many of the botanical extracts we use today have been used since the time of Jesus.
Egyptians, Greeks and Romans were all known to use the power of plants for their health and beauty.
So here’s some beauty advice straight from the Bible (OK we have given it a Happy Skincare twist but these 3 ingredients are well worth knowing about!)
Sandalwood is the bee’s knees for dry skin but helps all skin types with its great antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. And we have made it staple in nearly all of our products. It has healing properties and is traditionally used to help scars, blemishes and sun damage.
Frankincense is one of the most well-known oils from the Bible due to it playing a starring role at Christmas. It was revered by the ancient Egyptians and used to honour gods and so it is perfect for you to use (being a Goddess and all ).
It can be used by both young and mature skin as it can balance both oily and dry skin. It improves your skin tone and conditions through its regenerative properties.
When frankincense is combined with MSM like in the Perfectly Happy Anti Ageing Cream you have something extra special that can improve skin structure, texture and tone.
Cypress is another essential oil that has stood the test of time. It has a calming aroma that can stimulate focus. It’s a skin decongester and detoxifier because it improves your circulation and lymphatic drainage.
Plus it’s a miracle worker for clogged pores! It also has the ability to promote healing so it helps reduce acne scars and age spots.
We like to keep things Australian so we use Australian Blue Cypress. It comes from the Cypress family and the Australian Aboriginals used to use it to protect their skin from the harsh desert environment.
We wish you and your family a very happy and safe Easter.

Unfortunately we can’t control the damage caused by external aggressors (like wind, UV rays and pollution), but we can make conscious choices about the products we choose to slather on our strands. Here are just a few reasons why making the switch to natural might be the best treat you can give your cheesed-off tresses – and your conscience.
The secret to a routine that’s going to make your skin happy can often come down to a “less is more” approach. If you over-do it your skin will feel ho-hum. Here’s our guide to how often you should be doing all your skin things - from exfoliating to facials - to make your skin strong, clear and bright.
Getting older is an interesting thing. We've been brainwashed to fear the slightest changes in our complexions: a wrinkle here, a laugh line there, a smattering of sun spots.
And yet with age comes sooooo much good stuff: wisdom, comfort in your own skin, and the oh-so-coveted ability to give fewer damns. If you ask us, that sounds pretty great.
